Professional background
I am a psychotherapist working in private practice with adults, young people, and families, supporting a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and bereavement. In my private practice, I offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace and begin to make sense of what they are going through.
Alongside my private practice, I also work with a national charity supporting individuals and families affected by cancer.
My clinical experience spans hospitals, schools, and non-profit organisations, working with people across different stages of life —from young people in education to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
I began my career in a hospital setting as a family support worker, supporting those affected by chronic and life-threatening illness, including cancer. This gave me a deep understanding of the emotional impact of illness and bereavement, and how periods of crisis can bring longstanding relational and emotional difficulties into sharper focus.
I later managed a counselling service in a secondary school, providing therapeutic support to young people facing a range of challenges, including family difficulties, anxiety, low mood, special educational needs, and exam-related stress during important academic periods. This work deepened my understanding of how early experiences, attachment relationships, and external pressures shape emotional wellbeing, particularly during adolescence.
In 2016, I completed an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each person’s individual needs. My research focused on self-harm in young adults and how services might better respond to people in crisis. I continue to bring an interest in attachment, emotional distress, and resilience into my work, which underpins my approach in private practice today.
In-person sessions are held in my purpose-built, self-contained garden practice, designed to ensure complete confidentiality and help clients feel comfortable and at ease. I also offer online sessions for those who prefer the flexibility of remote support.
